Connecting a computer to the Internet
One of the main reasons for installing a home network is to share the Internet connection among multiple computers. An Internet service can cost as much as any of your monthly bills so it should be of benefit to everyone in the house. With a broadband technology, half a normal house can enjoy a fast Internet connection at a reasonable price, usually below the € 100 per month in most cities of the world.
How can choose the most appropriate Internet connection.
How much speed you need? If you have already surfed the Internet knows that something must have patience and a lot more complex when a file contains more information. The more information contains the longer it takes to get your team that we refer when we speak of speed or data rate in the field of Internet technology. Hence, a fast computer with a fast connection to show you the files in a more complex quickly.
May not want to think about this anymore, but the Internet connection speed is measured in bits per second (bps). 1000 bits is a kilobit. 1000 kilo bits are a megabyte, and 1,000 mega bits are one gigabit. Are you talking about bits? Then you are talking about data transmission speed.
But records are measured in bytes. A bit is about 1 / 8 of a byte. The pictures from a digital camera are probably 300 to 700 kilobytes (KB). An MP3 music file is about 3 mega bytes (MB). Are you talking about bytes? Then you are talking about file size.
Does it have to be on the lookout for bits and bytes every time you turn on your computer? No. But it's nice to know that when you have paid for a faster Internet access, you can download enough information to fill a CD in ten minutes. Access cheaper and slower may take hours to do the same job. If there are one or two people in your network using the Internet only to read email and web pages based primarily on cheap access text then is the answer. But if there is someone in the house that normally download music and movies, games or photos, you should consider the option of a faster connection.
