Types of cable red:
1) Straight cable normal
Used in networks where there is an element of union between computers or distribution, with can be a hub, switch or router, have the same order as the two connectors, usually 1-2-3-5-6-4-7-8 corresponding numbers in the order shown on cable network. (568-B).
2) Crossover cable
This type of cable is the one that we must always use a single network with two computers connected directly to one another. There are also some router and switch using straight or crossover cable alike, but always the same for all computers. The order of the threads in the two connectors is as follows:
- Connector A: 1-2-3-5-6-4-7-8, with these numbers in the order shown on cable network. (568-B).
- Connector B: 3-4-1-5-6-2-7-8, with these numbers in the order shown on cable network. (568-A).
We must bear in mind that if we make a network more than 100 MHz will have to use cable category 6 (C6) and terminal also RJ45 Shielded Category 6.
It is very important to note that UTP cables should not join by splicing (even if they are soldiers). We must
measure the length of the cable or not to stay short. However, if essential to extend the cable (always remembering
that the maximum length should not exceed 90 meters) you can use a female connector - female as shown in the image
below.
